Senior Environmental Awareness Week 2018

This year's Environmental Awareness Week programme featured a plethora of displays and presentations on the theme We want to break free...from plastics, including exhibitions of pupil works from the Art, Design and English departments.

Highlights of the week included Mr Petros Antonakos, policy officer on environmental issues from the Greek Ministry of Economy and Development, who gave a presentation to Year 8 pupils of Greek and Demetre Karavellas, WWF director in Greece and school alumnus, who spoke on the deleterious effects of plastics on sea life on Friday 9th November. A student bake sale raised funds in support of the Arcturos sanctuary, which the school has supported for a number of years. The week was capped off with a very informational and entertaining Senior School assembly on 12th November.

As the annual environmental awareness week draws to a close, it is important that we remember this year's theme and endeavour to apply it to our everyday life.
