Christmas aid

During the last term of 2017, Campion’s Volunteers Club organised a series of activities with the purpose of helping people facing difficulties.

Some of the money raised was used to finance a little ‘Christmas factory’ where we made Christmas gifts for the pupils at the transplant clinic of the Oncological Clinic of Agia Sophia Children’s Hospital. We also made more than 100 pouches full of chocolates using more than 1,000 chocolates kindly donated by the Parents’ Association. All these gifts were distributed over the Christmas holidays to children at the above-mentioned hospital by volunteers of the NGO Karkinaki.

The remaining €300, as well as a €500 donation by the Parents Association from the decoration of gingerbread houses (donated by IKEA for the Christmas Bazaar), will be given to Karkinaki to buy any appropriate equipment to improve the patients’ and parents’ stay in hospital.

With the support of the whole school community, we also ran a Christmas box competition and food drive to support families in need. The result was 30 boxes, uniquely decorated and full of useful food supplies, which were given to Mandra families which had been devastated by the floods in November.

We would like to thank all who supported us in every possible way and to wish you and your families a happy and prosperous 2018!
